Personal

Dominik Hrbaty was a former Slovakian player who attained a career-high No. 12 in the singles rankings (17 October 2005). He is one of only three players in history to hold a positive win-loss record against Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, along with Novak Djokovic and Alex Corretja.

Hrbaty, whose best Grand Slam result was a run to the semi-finals at Roland Garros in 1999, won six ATP Tour titles and led his nation to the Davis Cup final in 2005. He holds the record for most singles wins (28) and most ties played (26) for Slovakia in the Davis Cup.

Having retired from playing in 2010, Hrbaty began captaining Turkey’s Davis Cup Team in 2013 before moving to work with countryman Martin Klizan from 2017-2019. Klizan rose from World No. 181 to a career-high No. 38 while working with Hrbaty, claiming a title at Kitzbuhel in 2018. Hrbarty also captained the Slovakian Davis Cup team for five ties between April 2018 to November 2020, achieving wins against Belarus and Switzerland in Group 1 ties.
