Began playing tennis at age seven…Father, Manfred, is a real estate manager and inventor for experimental kits; mother, Barbara, is a housewife; older sister Christine is a school teacher. Lives together with wife Nadine, a dentist, and daughter Mia-Marie in his hometown Stuttgart. Graduated with a Bachelor in Psychology from University of Phoenix in February 2014. Interests include technology and cars. Served a two-year term on the ATP Player Council from June 2008.
