Began playing tennis at age 4. Parents were playing tennisin a club and he went with them and started hitting againstthe wall.
Nickname “Bemel”.
Father, Marcel, works for the city of Maasmechelen andwas a high-level volleyball player; mother, Linda, works for an insurancecompany and was a good badminton player. Sister, Hanne, teaches kids with special needs.
Speaks French, Dutch and English.
Favourite surface is hard,shot is backhand andtournament is Australian Open.
Idols growing up were Andre Agassi and Lleyton Hewitt.
Enjoys playing golf, spending time with his family and friends.
If he wasn’t a tennis player, he would have completed hisstudies and probably become a teacher like his sister.
Supports Les Diables Rouges (Belgium footballnational team).
