Father, Eduardo; mother, Elsa; sister Carmina, used to play Fed Cup for Colombia; brother, Daniel.
If he wasn't a tennis player, he wouldbe a politician.
Started Fundacion Santi Giraldo in 2014, focusingon actively involving the most socially and economically disadvantaged children intennis. Foundation was awarded an ATP ACES for Charity grant for $15,000 in 2016.
Likes to watch movies, read novels, swim, ride horses andlisten to music (reggaeton and electronic music).
Has his own sports clothing brand, Santi Giraldo.
Works occasionally with former World No. 2 Alex Corretja. Fitness coach is Javier Beltran.
Underwent surgeries for appendicitis and peritonitis in September2012.

Owns 199-106 ATP Challenger Tour record (10-8 in finals). Most recently won titles in2016 at Prague, CZEand Fairfield, USA. Boasts Challenger wins over one-time Top 10 players Canas, Del Potro, Lapentti and Puerta.
