During a mixed doubles match Sunday at the Australian Open, Tim Puetz's quick reactions helped a young ballkid who appeared on the verge of collapsing.
Early in the second set of the second-round match, fans in Kia Arena pointed out that the ballkid was unwell at the back of the court. In the nick of time, Germany's Puetz came to the aid of the youngster to keep him from falling. The No. 10 in the PIF ATP Doubles Rankings eventually guided the ballkid safely to the ground as further assistance quickly arrived.
Tennis Australia later confirmed in an update that the youngster was safe and in the care of their parents.

The distressing incident happened while Puetz and Demi Schuurs were playing Aussies Kimberly Birrell and John-Patrick Smith in mixed doubles. The home duo earned a 6-3, 5-7, 10-8 victory, but Puetz remains in the Australian Open men's doubles draw alongside Kevin Krawietz. The fourth-seeded Germans will face 11th-seeded Britons Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool on Wednesday in the quarter-finals.
