    • Named after Formula 1driver Jenson Button. Father raced for fun and is an avid fan.
    • Nickname is J.T. (middle name is Tyler).
    • Father, Glen, is an anesthesiologist; mother, Tania.
    • Began playing tennis at age 4, hitting a soft tennis ball against garage door while waiting for his parents to take him to school.
    • Voted 2021 ATP Newcomer of the Year by his fellow players.
    • Missed 14 months due to arm and turf toe injuries following 2019 US Open. Was in a boot for nine weeks.
    • Intended to play college tennis at Baylor University, but turned pro after missing entire 2020 season due to injuries.
    • Self-described "physical player,"with an aggressiveapproach on court: "I definitely have the fire out there and stay really focused, but off the court I'm more laid back."
    • Tennis inspirationis Rafael Nadal: "His mentality and consistency is just so amazing for me to see. And how he's done that for so long. I love the intensity and discipline he brings every time."
    • Motivation: "I just love the individual aspect of competing, rather than a team sport. It's completely up to you, whether you win or lose and you have to trust yourself out there. You have a team around you, but there's no teammates. Once you get to the matches, it's all on you."
    • If he could steal one shot from another player, it would be Novak Djokovic's return.
    • Passionate about playing piano, having started at age 9. Says it is a relaxing and fun skill to have, and enjoys being able to read music and play his own notes.

    • Achieved career-high No. 33 in June 2022, then defeated 6-time champion Isner at 2022 Atlanta en route to 3rd ATP 250 final on home soil.
    • Advanced to 1st ATP Tour QF, SF and final in his grass-court debut at 2021 Newport, becoming 2nd-youngest finalist at age 20 in 46-year tournament history (Rusedski, 19, in 1993).
    • Reached 2021 US Open 4R as 20-year-old WC, becoming youngest American in US Open 4R since Roddick, 20, in 2002.
    • Defeated No. 3 Ruud for biggest win of career and to reach 2023 Australian Open 3R.
    • Qualified at 2019 US Open and ended former World No. 4 Berdych’s career for 1st tour-level win, then missed entire 2020 season due to toe injury.
    • Underwent left wrist surgery in March 2023 and then underwent right surgery in May
