Entire family played tennis. Says he had a tennis racquet as a toy in his crib and began playing as soon as he learned to walk.
Coached by his father throughout his life.
Played college tennis at University of Texas from 2006-09, earning All-American honours as a freshman. Graduated with degree in actuarial science.
Says that having 2 surgeries impacted his career and life positively, helping him learn and grow as both a player and a person.
Favourite shot is backhand, surface is clay, city on tour is Melbourne and tournaments are Acapulco and Davis Cup.
