Father, Ramiz, is a retired policeman and mother, Amra, is a genetics doctor. Has an older sister, Neira.
Aunt and uncle played professional handball in Bosnia.
Speaks Bosnian, English and Italian.
Started playing tennis at age five with his sister in his hometown. The coach at the local club saw his talent and encouraged him to pursue the sport.
Mom has had the biggest impact on his career: "She is a doctor and is very ambitious and successful in her life. She helped me in the difficult moments and pushed me forward when I thought of giving up."
Obtained a law degree from the University of Sarajevo in 2018 and will pursue further studies in criminal law.
Idols growing up were Lleyton Hewitt and Rafael Nadal.
Is close with former World No. 23 Damir Dzumhur, who lives in the same neighborhood in Sarajevo: "Me and Damir were pretty much raised together in Bosnia. It is tough to have a tennis career there, but if you have the will and passion, doors will open and you'll find a way."
Favourite football teams are FC Sarajevo and Real Madrid. Lists Cristiano Ronaldo as his favourite athlete.
Listens to 80s and 90s music and enjoys Balkan rap.
Favourite food from home is 'Burek', a pita with meat and potatoes.
Says his perfect day away from tennis includes golf and spending time with friends.
