Began playing tennis at age five, after his parents gave him a 'palo con pelota' (paddle ball with string) during a family vacation to the beach: "I would play with it for four hours each day. I hit the ball alone and did not stop. When I came home, I asked my parents for tennis lessons and that's how it started."

Describes himself as a very hard worker: "I try to make myself better every day and I give my heart to everything I do. And I always try to see the positive side when things don't go my way. I think it's very important to be the same person on the court as you are off the court. It helps a lot, in tennis and in life."

Biggest off-court achievement was winning a 6 kmrace as a child in his hometown of La Plata.
Hobbies include football (plays in an amateur league with friends in Argentina) and PlayStation: "Not like Nick Kyrgios, but I do play at a very high level."
